Further Workshop Testimonials

"I have enjoyed photography ever since my Mother gave me my Box Brownie. Years later when I bought a Digital SLR I enjoyed shooting in Auto getting results that were pleasing to my eye but listening to photographers started to make me curious about the creative modes. I struggled with getting settings just right for a long time and decided I needed professional help.

Quite by accident I came across Mark Gray's web site and enrolled in a course on the Great Ocean Road. Professional help from Mark made me understand my camera and it's what it is capable of. The technical explanation was explained in very simple language. The results of the three days tuition is beyond my expectations. I am over the moon with my results!

I enjoyed the workshop very much with great company as well. My favourite location was the large group of Apostles although the waterfall was a very close second.

The workshop highlight probably was my first sighting of the Apostles, we came around the corner and there they were!

Our tech sessions were very simple to understand and I especially like the way you took the time to explain something that one did not understand. I also especially did like the personal tuition and the way you looked through my view finder with advice on the particular image that I was about to shoot.

Many thanks again Mark and if you come to Brisbane anytime soon I would really enjoy some futher tuition!"

- Mary-Lou, QLD

"Mark, I just want to thank you and Matt for a wonderful weekend and all your guidance and showing us the secret places on the Great Ocean Road. The quality of the accommodation was amazing – well located, very comfortable accommodation. Good that single accommodation is provided rather than sharing with other participants. I think on photography trips it is nice to chill out seperately.

During the technical sessions I felt I could ask any questions no matter how silly or simple they were. Great presentation booklets were presented at the beginning of the photography workshop. The sessions were very informal but very effective and I learnt a lot out of this information in particular the session on weather.

- Kim Barnabas, ACT

"Mark, Thank you and Matt for your excellent and hard work to make our trip very comfortable and fun. The workshop was absolutely amazing! It was well organized and very informative. We've learnt so much and had a lot of fun in a relaxed and friendly environment.

It was great to take photos at famous locations, but I also enjoyed discovering secret locations. I learnt a lot in the very informative technical sessions and it was good to exchange questions among participants. During the workshop it was very encouraging to receive good comments on my photos. I'm also impressed with the well prepared folder we received. Good work!"

- Michiko, VIC

"Hey Mark, the weekend was great! You are on a winner here. I can't believe there aren't any more short trips around like yours. The workshop size was perfect. All seemed to get on well. The time allocated at the locations was about right. Both yourself & Matt made a great team to ensure we had a stress free holiday. I think your choice of accommodation & meals complimented the fantastic scenery. It was a full 3 days which ensured we really got the most out of it. Your personal tuition was excellent - I have never used ND filters & not much tripod use, but now I feel confident enough to get out there at the crack of dawn to see what I have been missing out on."

- Sam Mariani, VIC

Workshop Testimonials

"Hey Mark, your Great Ocean Road trip was a very memorable experience, enjoyed with a group of like-minded people. You are a ‘pro’ in many respects with great style. The workshop was carefully planned & extremely well executed & Matt with his easy nature & ready smile was a real asset. Your attention to detail was noticeable & appreciated. Your personal tuition was the real highlight of the photography workshop for me. You seem to know instinctively when someone is ‘struggling’ & you provided input in a way which was immediately useful & easily understood. In teaching terms, that is a gift. The tips & knowledge you conveyed to me will certainly help me progress. I couldn’t wait to see what the photos looked like on the computer & I have already compiled a GOR Photobook which contains 80 odd images which I am happy to show my family & friends. The meals were excellent and the accommodation was also of a very high standard. Overall, I really benefited from consolidating & extending my knowledge of both my camera & the techniques of shooting landscapes. I enjoyed the workshop immensely!"

- Russ McLean, NZ

"Hi Mark, I had a fantastic time on the workshop and want to go again! The accommodation and meals were very good and I loved shooting all the secret places. I will definately recommend this workshop to anybody who has an interest in taking a good picture on the Great Ocean Road. FANTASTIC!!!!"

- Julie Dobbs, QLD

"Hi Mark, your great ocean road photo workshop was an extremely enjoyable 3 days and I would love to go back and do it again! There were great locations, great company, excellent tour guides and top quality accomodation which was well worth every penny spent. I got some great shots every day and it was just such spectacular country. The highlight for me was the great feeling you get when you capture the magic of a beautiful landscape on your camera while being with a group who have the same feelings and passion as I do. It was really nice to see the great comradere that developed between everyone on the workshop. Having tour guides with such great knowledge of the area and locations to shoot was fantastic. I could have spent a week in the area on my own and probably not seen as much of the country side as I did in the 3 days of the workshop. Every meal was delightful well thought out and delicious too. Your technical sessions were well thought out and in a logical sequence covering a wide skills base. I also liked how you provided everyone in the group with personal tuition aimed at their own level of skill and development. I traveled from one side of the country to the other to take the workshop and would happily do so again!"
