Colours Of The Dandenongs - Autumn Colours 2008 Tour Report
The Autumn 'Colours Of The Dandenongs' Tour was a fantastic day for everyone involved!
Although quite brisk, the Autumn weather remained dry with occassional overcast patches during the day which was great for capturing photographs of the beautiful Autumn colours in the gardens. The lunch at Sky High Restaurant was delicous and most participants agreed that Alfred Nicholas Gardens was the highlight of the day!
The Spring colours tour will be run in October, and with only 6 places available be sure to book quickly to avoid missing out!

" HI Mark, I've been to the Dandenongs several times, but never visited those beautiful gardens nor a perfect spot to shoot Puffing Billy. Thank you very much for introducing us to those great places and for teaching us to take more impressive shots. I had a great day!
Alfred Nicholas Gardens was my favourite location especially as it was quiet because we visited early in the morning.
While on location it was great to clarify queries such as use of filters and learn better compositions and lighting techniques.
The highlight of the tour was when we set up to shoot Puffing Billy and saw the train coming. It was exciting and we all had lots of fun while disappearing in the smoke :)"

"Hi Mark, I had a great time and really enjoyed the opportunity to share with you your secrets of the Dandenongs and learn from your experience. The locations were fantastic and provided a great range of shooting environments. I would have to say the Alfred Nicholas Gardens were the highlight. It was just the perfect time to be there. Good homework on your part. I could have spent all day there. I only wished I had realized earlier what I was missing with my “non functioning polariser”. But at least I know now. Just having the time to get out and dedicate the day to photography was very enjoyable and relaxing. I certainly picked up a lot of tips along the way to improve my photography.
The tour was conducted in a very relaxed and informative style. The technical sessions were very useful and provided a nice balance of knowledge to the day. I particularly appreciated the session on the weather. It is a well laid out technical manual.
Overall thanks for a great day. It has inspired me to continue with increased zest and fuelled with greater expectation of perfection. I have moved another step closer to this thanks to you."

"Hi Mark,
Thanks so much for the opportunity to come on the Dandenongs tour with you.
Your technical discussions were great! I learnt heaps from them, especially the first one on ISO etc. It has opened up my eyes to the possibilities of photography and given me an excuse to get up early to get the perfect shot. I even tried to get a few shots before work this week!!
All participants were easy to get along with and also enjoyed the day. My favorite location was Alfred Nicholas Gardens.
I would definitely like to come to another tour the Melbourne one looks ideal.
I was really blown away by the 6x17 camera that one of the other participants had. I would love to give something like that a go down the track also. Thanks again..."
