It's not often that great locations just fall in your lap! When I checked in to my room where we were staying for our October 2010 Cairns photography tour/workshop I got a nice surprise. I instantly saw great potential in shooting a photograph straight off my balcony. I decided that it would be best shot at sunrise and would need truly remarkable light and colours through the sky to set the scene. Given that I was staying for almost two weeks I was fairly confident that it would happen during my stay. Well it took almost a week but the morning after our workshop wrapped up, I awoke right on cue just as the sky started to light up. Clearly God wanted me to capture this particular sunrise so I hastily setup my gear on the balcony (only 2 metres from my bed!) and captured this awe-inspiring sunrise over Trinity Bay in Cairns.
